Couture Inspired Headpieces

The humble Alice Band has had an extreme makeover in recent months with jewel, diamond and giant pearl encrusted creations now appearing on the haute couture catwalks. Gracing such beauties as Kaia Gerber and  the Duchess of Cambridge these fabulous hair 'halo's' are the talk of the town!

Dolce & Gabbana have used headbands to express their Savoir-faire and craftsmanship by creating statement pieces that are funky yet suggest luxe. Using a Kaleidoscope of colours and trims they have shown that they can be cool when paired with a military look or indeed with sequins and chiffon. Givenchy has also used these beautiful headpieces on their ready to wear catwalks.

We will teach you a number of styles, starting with a simple knotted version, then using gorgeous ribbons, silks or Parisienne tweeds, add some veiling, feathers, pearls or sparkle; students will go on to create their own work of art on this fantastic one day course!

You will mostly be hand-sewing, but you will also need to be able to manage some simple machine straight-stitching, we will be on hand to help and guide you throughout.
